The Make a Zine workshop is a great experience for newbies and experienced zine makers alike. Join us for a hands-on workshop where you will create your own zine using analog techniques and walk away with 50 copies of your work that you can sell or trade!
You’ll learn about the history and purpose of zines, as well as how a risograph machine works and why it’s a great option for printing zines.
This workshop consists of an intro to zines and risograph technology, followed by time for collaging and drawing to create the master page for your zine. The final step is scanning your work and working with the riso machine to print your copies.
Collage materials, markers, crayons, pencils, washi tape, and printing paper are provided, but feel free to bring any materials you’d like to use to create your design.
Instructor Bio: Kaye Ellen Trautman is an artist, graphic designer, risograph enthusiast, and zine enjoyer. She enjoys the extra hands-on approach to printing that riso requires, as well as the beautifully vibrant colors of a good print. You can find her on Instagram at @xray.angel.
