Threads of Resistance

  • ODU Education Building - Multipurpose Room 1226 West 43rd Street Norfolk, VA, 23508 United States (map)

Join us next Thursday, April 17, at ODU for Threads of Resistance—an evening of creativity, community, and craftivism!

Cosponsored by WHS and Gay Cultural Studies, this event begins at 6 PM with hands-on workshops in embroidery, block printing, and book binding led by local artists Katherine Kaywinnet, Sarah of Studio Shift, and Tuff from the 757 Creative ReUse Center. Materials are provided—just bring your enthusiasm!

At 7 PM, we’ll hear from Shannon Downey (aka Badass Cross Stitch) about the powerful role women and queer activists have played in using craftivism to create change.

If you’ve been needing a break, this is the event for you.
